Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have all been very excited today when opening their Christmas letters they have received back from Santa. Not long to go now…. ho ho ho! 

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about the Christmas Story and have worked hard to sequence this to create Christmas Story crowns.

As part of our learning on dinosaurs, Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been busy making their own fossils, dinosaur bones and taking role as a palaeontologist. We have also been learning about Mary Anning and worked in groups to create some great fact sheets on her through our research. 

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have moved onto learning about dinosaurs as part of our topic and have had great fun using our imagination and creative skills outdoors. Using natural materials we found on our welly walk and some we already had in class, we created our very own dinosaurs. All dinosaurs looked different and were super! We then used these to develop our descriptive writing where the learners came up with some excellent descriptions of their dinosaurs.

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been learning about forces and have carried out a range of experiments to explore these. The learners made predictions in which they then reflected upon after carrying out the experiments. There was some great thinking going on. Bendigedig Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne!

A fabulous evening at our Christmas Fair on Friday, hosted by Friends of Radnor Valley School. Thank you all so much for supporting us! Learners demonstrated innovation and independence in creating and running their stalls.

This week Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been writing their Christmas letters to Santa. We then posted these on our welly walk which the learners were very excited about!

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been busy baking and decorating some Christmas biscuits this week, as well as creating other Christmas crafts to sell at our Christmas Fair on Friday. The biscuits smell delicious… don’t forget to come along if you can!

Dosbarth Miss Burgoyne have been busy making blackberry jam.. yum yum! We went on a welly walk to pick the blackberries and then froze these. Last week we worked together to make our jam using our mathematical skills to carefully measure out our ingredients, and our literacy skills to follow the recipe. This week we tasted it on some bread and it was delicious! We linked this to our Stone Age theme by discussing how berries were part of the Stone Age diet.
